Become a Hopeful Cities® Ambassador

Help Bring the Science and Skills of Hope to Your Community

Hopeful Cities Ambassadors help introduce the science and skills of Hope to individuals, schools, workplaces, and organizations in their communities once licensed as a Hopeful City.

Hope is more than a feeling. It is a motivation system and a set of skills that help people move toward meaningful goals, even during difficult times. When communities understand how Hope works, they become stronger, more resilient, and more connected.

The Hopeful Cities Movement exists to help communities strengthen wellbeing by teaching people how to move from despair to positive feelings and from helplessness to inspired actions.

Hopeful Cities Ambassadors play a key role in bringing this vision to life in their communities once licensed as a Hopeful City.

What Hopeful Cities Ambassadors Do

Hopeful Cities Ambassadors help activate Hope in their communities by sharing resources and encouraging conversations about how Hope works.

Ambassadors may:

  • Share Hope resources with schools and community organizations
  • Introduce workplaces to Hope-building practices
  • Encourage people to measure their Hope
  • Teach the introductory Hope lesson
  • Display community resource signs in public places
  • Plant sunflower gardens as a symbol of Hope
  • Help amplify the International Day of Hope on July 12

These simple actions help introduce more people to the science and skills of Hope.

When individuals understand how Hope works, communities become healthier and more resilient.

Who Can Become a Hopeful Cities Ambassador

Hopeful Cities Ambassadors are certified in communities that have officially joined the Hopeful Cities Movement.

Cities must license the Hopeful Cities program in order to train and certify Ambassadors.

This ensures that Ambassadors have access to:

  • city-specific resources
  • local activation opportunities
  • community partners
  • Hopeful Cities tools and materials

Visit our Cities page to see which communities are currently participating.

If your city has joined the Hopeful Cities Movement, you can become an Ambassador by completing the short Ambassador Training.
